Life is too short not to find humor everywhere
There is not a person on the planet who sees exactly what another sees. Each of us comes from our point of view with our own unique set of influences that color our vision. Artists express themselves through their art. If it strikes a chord of resonance with the viewer, it taps into a moving emotion, one that is experienced on a deeper level and we become kindred spirits. As an artist, I want to share what I see.
My works have always reflected my surroundings. Since moving to the Napa Valley I enthusiastically embraced the life style by attending wine auctions, wine events, visiting wineries and learning about wines. Our hearts were so captured, we had to grow wine! Being an avid people watcher, I also became an avid birds of prey watcher while we planted our vineyard. I began to see the wine event attendees’ personalities merge with the birds of prey attitudes and my characters took flight. One of my favorite philosophies is “Life is too short not to find humor everywhere.”
When we began making wine we decided to call our brand “Eagle Eye” as my paintings became our labels for each varietal we produced. There was a story about each painting and a story about each wine on the back of the bottles. Our labels have evolved as our vineyard has matured…Our second label incarnation was “Eagle Eye” written vertically which we called our Tuxedo label. Our current label is a beautiful Bald Eagle, the national bird of the USA.
I’ve made posters of our original wine labels. They are 11”x 17” and suitable for framing. I will sign each one.
