Being a wine groupie for years in the Napa Valley and attending every wine event including the Napa Valley Wine Auctions, I saw certain personality types repeatedly. Then we planted our vineyard and I began, with equal fascination, to watch the behavior of the birds of prey on the property. Soon they merged and my characters took flight!

It is Mustard Season in the wine country. The dormant vines appear as stripes in the highlighter yellow fields. In Carneros the hills are spotted with cows, velcro cows as they stick to the hills in the distance. The area isabundant with egrets, calla lilies and of course, the grape, the wine grape. These contented California Cows pose for the artist.

There are wolves in the beautiful rolling hills and mountains up valley in the wine country. On this night there is a full moon and the pack throws back their heads and howls in symphonic harmony. The glass of champagne is poured and the tiny bubbles rush in excitement and leap out of the flute into the atmosphere and join with the moon.
